Albert Momdjian, Founder & CEO, SOKOTRA Capital

Albert Momdjian

Albert established SOKOTRA Capital in early 2014 after spending almost three years with UBS AG as the Head of its UHNW and Corporate Advisory Group businesses for the Middle East & Africa region. During his time with UBS, Albert reported to the Head of Global Emerging Markets Wealth Management in Zurich and was responsible for a team of over 55 professionals across Zurich, Geneva and Dubai. Prior to joining UBS, Albert worked in Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (formerly CALYON) from 2006-2011 as head of its Middle East & Africa investment banking business.

Albert’s previous assignments include: Head of Corporate and Investment Banking Coverage for the MENA region at Credit Suisse First Boston (“CSFB”) in London. Investment banking coverage for the MENA at Merrill Lynch (including M&A, Equity and Equity Linked origination) also in London. Albert holds a Master in International Finance, with Honors from the University of Paris Dauphine (France).

Kassem Lahham, Senior Director Institutional Sales and Head of Private Clients, Amicorp Advisory, UAE

Kassem-LahhamKassem has more than 25 years’ of experience in International Private Banking, Wealth Management, and Wealth Planning which he gained at highly renowned financial institutions like Deutsche Bank, UBS, Banque Pictet & Cie SA and the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD). Throughout his career, Mr Lahham has specialized in Wealth and Asset Management, Mergers and Acquisitions and developed a loyal client base in the MENA and GCC regions, Europe and Asia. Currently, he engages as a senior Wealth Management Consultant for the Banque de Credit National S.A.L. in Beirut, while at the same time offers Wealth Planning Services via his base in Dubai, UAE. He serves on a regular basis at the ‘Business Law Section’ at the American University in “The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan”, He fully understands how to educate and sell easy to complicated structures in the Wealth Planning field to HNWI and KEY clients in the MENA and GCC regions by sharing his experience with his audience, colleagues, and team members.

A practical individual and entrepreneur, he adores his work and enjoys building and developing. His employers have recognized the merits of his competencies and his work as is clearly demonstrate in his various promotions and rewards. Kassem was raised in Germany and Switzerland and has lived in France, Monaco, U.K., U.S.A., The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Lebanon and in the United Arab Emirates.

Mimoun Assroui, Managing Director, RIF Trust, UAE

Mimoun AssrouiMimoun is a seasoned banking professional with more than 15 years experience in the GCC, Levant and Asian regions. He specializes in Wealth Management and Family Office services, while he is of those professionals who have also technical understanding of financial products and structured solutions, expertise that he has developed from his engagement with prominent banking and finance institutions like, National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD). ABN Amro Bank, Societe Generale, and Morgan Stanley.

His background lies within the Wealth Management and HNWI services, capital allocation and asset management as well as custody and tax management solutions.

Marko Klein, Head of Private Banking and Wealth Management, Bank of Sharjah, UAE

Marko Klein

Marko is a seasoned Wealth Management and Private Banking professional with more than 10 years of experience. Currently he services as the Head of Private Banking and Wealth Management for Bank of Sharjah in Dubai, where he develops and establishes the PBWM business. He covers the markets UAE and Lebanon, but also caters clients out of the GCC region. His expertise lies under asset management, equity releases, commodities (precious metals) while, at the same time he specializes in inheritance and succession planning. Previous to Bank of Sharjah, Marko has worked for Commerzbank in Luxembourg and DZ PrivatBank S.A.

He started his career with a management trainee program in the industrial sector where he was responsible for several restructuring projects. He holds a Degree in International Management from the University of Applied Sciences FHDW from Hannover, Germany

Rima Mrad, Partner, BSA LLP, UAE

Rima MradRima Mrad is a Partner with Bin Shabib & Associates (BSA) LLP, a regional law firm with offices in Dubai, Muscat, Riyadh, Beirut and Irbil. She is an experienced corporate and insurance lawyer who has practiced in the UAE for over eight years.

Rima specializes in advising banks, insurance companies, and other financial institutions, on a wide range of legal issues. Rima has also advised and assisted international clients in developing their business throughout the GCC, particularly in relation to regulatory and compliance matters. Rima has published a number of articles on various topics and her latest publications include: Islamic Finance: A Practical Guide – Second Edition: January, 2014

Francois Aubert, Founder, Swissconsultant, Switzerland

Francois AubertFrançois is an independent private banker, consultant, business coach, speaker, trainer and lecturer (Trinity College Dublin) and a member of the Thunderbird Educator Network, working with companies and individuals in over 30 countries. He is as well a long time volunteer for the CFA Institute, the CAIA Association and other organizations. His extensive knowledge of the banking world, and more particularly of the private wealth management industry comes from 25 years in the banking business and from working with an array of senior bankers from all around the world he advised, trained and/or coached. “Solving problems is not about pushing products but rather about analyzing the situation, proposing solutions and implementing them”.

He holds an MBA from the Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and is a Certified Financial Analyst and Portfolio Manager (CEFA), CAIA charter-holder, Certified Trainer (Swiss Federal Certificate) and Certified Coach.

Robin AmlôtRobin Amlôt is CPI Financial’s Managing Editor. He has worked as an award-winning financial journalist for more than 30 years in print, radio, television and online. Robin has covered all aspects of business and finance in his career, including as Financial Editor of Independent Radio News, UK; Senior Business Producer, Sky News; as a national newspaper columnist in the UK; author of Dawn Trader’s Guide to World Markets (Boxtree 1992); contributing author to Opportunities in Islamic Finance (CPI Financial 2011).

Robin was educated in England, has a B.A. (Politics) from Lancaster University and holds the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Financial Planning Certificate.
