Jeffrey Kappen, PhD

Jeffrey has spent ten years working with companies from start-ups to the Fortune 100, which included over three years working and studying in Europe and South America. An assistant professor at Drake University, he is currently researching integration efforts among emerging markets, such as the BRICS, transnational institutions and governance, and the role of language and conflict resolution in multinational firms.

Jeffrey earned a PhD from the University of Massachusetts, focusing upon Organizational Studies. Jeffrey further earned his MBA from the University of Wisconsin, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Modern Languages from Beloit College.

Kavilash Chawla

Kavi has spent the majority of his career as a strategy advisor and consultant to private and public-sector organizations supporting them with the development and execution of their global growth strategies.

Prior to transitioning into an advisory role, Kavi was in the investment banking industry. Kavi’s sector expertise include financial services, energy, FMCG, and the non-profit sector. His regional expertise is focused in high growth markets, especially the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Kavi is also a Partner in Impact Investment Partners, a London based, FCA regulated asset management and investment advisory company, and a Co-Founder of Growmada, a fintech platform focused on scaling social enterprises.

Kavi is heavily involved in serving his community. He is member of the Board of Trustees at Broadlawns Medical Center, a member of the Board or Directors of CultureALL, and an active member of the Rotary Club of Des Moines. Kavi is also on the Board of Directors of Pyxera Global, a Washington D.C. based institution that brings public, private, and social sector organizations together to solve the globe’s most pressing challenges.

Kavi holds a Master in Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Masters in International Affairs from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, History, and Political Science from Drake University.

Throughout her extensive international career, Christianna has held a variety of leadership roles that include development and management of international concepts, brands, projects and teams, across multicultural markets, specifically across the Middle East and Africa, Europe, Southeast Asia and the USA. Concurrent to her leadership role at Bâton Global, she is also an active entrepreneur and frequent moderator at finance, human capital, leadership and corporate responsibility events globally.

Christianna has been a resident of the UAE since 2004 and is heavily involved in projects that give back to the local communities through her active role as the UAE Chapter Chair for “Educate Girls Globally (EGG), active member of the “Growing Leaders Foundation”, and a very extensive and active Corporate Social Responsibility background in both the Middle East and Europe.

She holds a BA in Marketing and Business Administration, a Diploma in Teaching from St. Michael’s College in Vermont, USA, and is a US Certified life-coach and mentor (CTI).
