Program Overview
The Leading Others program, the flagship program by Drake University Executive Education is designed for leaders seeking leadership transformation and accelerated growth. This program will help leaders to lead organizations through periods of both change and stability. Standard delivery is over a period of 8-9 months but we can also offer a shortened version over 4-6 months.

The Format
The program combines a unique opportunity to maximize learning and development while minimizing time away from the office.
Through a combination of executive coaching and two highly interactive classroom weeks, you move through the four program components (Leader Readiness, Leader Development, Organization Performance, and Leadership Sustainability) actually implementing as you learn.

This program is designed for mid-to-senior level executives charged with creating organizational value, and mid-level executives preparing for more senior roles. Participants will develop both an actionable leadership development plan and a comprehensive, function-specific, business plan, leveraging tools and techniques designed to capitalize on key strengths

Component 2 – Includes 40 Classroom Hours
- Identify your strengths and weaknesses through your Leadership Success Profile results
- Create a personalized leader development plan
- Learn practical tools to engage your team
Organization Performance
Component 3 – Includes 40 Classroom Hours
- Learn how to drive strategy and decision-making
- Identify performance gaps and strategic opportunities
- Create a three-year business plan for your function
- Present your business plan to the Dolphin Tank
Leadership Sustainability
Component 4 – Includes 12 Classroom Hours
- Understand your leadership gains through your re-assessment of the Leadership Success Profile
- Complete your leader development plan, charting your continued journey to outstanding leadership
- Evolve your three-year business plan to achieve greatest impact
Leadership Success Profile
Month 18 – Retake (Optional)
Leadership development is an ongoing process. As part of the program, participants will have the option to retake the Drake Leadership Success Profile within 18 months from the program start date, thus allowing for continuous observation and growth.

Matthew Mitchell, PhD International Business & Strategy, Drake UniversityMatthew Mitchell, is an associate professor of International Business and Strategy, with expertise in the intersection of business strategy, politics, and religion in global markets. Mitchell has lived and worked in more than 75 countries, and has advised Fortune 500 companies, governments, and organizations in the areas of executive leadership development, risk management and analysis, and international management. He is a recipient of Drake’s Madelyn Levitt Teacher of the Year Award and is Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce. He earned degrees in physics, math and an MBA from Rollins College, and a PhD in International Business from the University of South Carolina. |

Hesham El-Gamal Founding Partner & CEO, QuestHesham, founder and CEO of Quest, a business consulting and human development firm, has over 30 years of business experience in diversified fields such as process engineering, sales & marketing, and business strategy. As a certified Executive and Relationship Coach and a Master Facilitator, Hesham strives to help executive teams and individuals accelerate their professional growth through business simulations, customized leadership programs, and coaching based workshops. Hesham holds a BSc. in Chemical Engineering from Cairo University, and an Executive MBA from the ESC Rennes. He is also a Professional Certified Coach by the International Coach Federation, and is currently the President of the ICF Chapter in Egypt. |

Kavilash Chawla Founding Partner, Bâton GlobalKavi is a seasoned international business executive, entrepreneur, and investor with 20 plus years of experience working with organizations on the development and execution of their growth and development strategies. As an international finance and strategy expert, Kavi has worked with global and regional organizations, with primary geographic expertise in the Middle East and Asia. Prior to establishing his own firms, Kavi was in the Investment Banking Group with Deutsche Bank in London and with the United Nations in New York. Kavi holds a B.A. from Drake University, a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University in New York, and a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. |

Jeffrey Kappen, PhD International Business & Management, Drake UniversityJeffrey Kappen is an assistant professor of International Business and Management with expertise in organizational management, global business, and sustainable development. Kappen directs Drake’s Principal Center for Global Citizenship and the Nelson Institute of International Affairs. Kappen has worked and consulted extensively in international sales, marketing and logistics with Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, and non-profit organization. He chairs the largest national chapter of the Academy of International Business. Jeff has degrees in International Relations, French, and Russian from Beloit College, an MBA in International Marketing from the University of Wisconsin, and a PhD in Management from the University of Massachusetts. |
