Introduction to Ciphers & Cryptography
Cryptography the art and science of creating messages that have some combination of being private, signed, unmodified with non-repudiation. Cryptographic strength is measured in the time and resources it would require to recover then plaintext. The result of strong cryptography is ciphertext that is very difficult to decipher without possession of the appropriate decoding tool.
Modern cryptography provides essential techniques for securing information and protecting data.
The focus of this session is to provide the participant with an examination of the principles of ciphers and the fundamentals of cryptography, the importance of secure communications using strong cryptography techniques and the role of cryptography in establishing a viable data security program, leading to the better protection of data assets.
